1 Project Management Committee – Sample Terms of Reference

1. Purpose

The purpose of the committee is:

  • approval of changes to the project and its supporting documentation;
  • monitoring and review of the project;
  • assistance to the project when required;
  • resolution of project conflicts; and
  • formal acceptance of project deliverables.

2. Modus Operandi

A description of:

  • how the committee will operate – decision making process e.g. consensus or voting rules, meeting minutes and the status of these e.g. confidential;
  • how many meetings per year;
  • how the committee will be resourced – will the committee members be paid for disbursements or meeting fees;
  • who will be on the committee and how are they selected;
  • why and how can these terms of reference can be changed; and
  • any role for co-opted members.
