Dear all He mihi nui ki a koutou
In this edition:
A quick update on the current funding round, and to advise you that the Phase 2 applicant workshops advertised in the last e-news have been postponed until later in the year.
Phase 1 of the 2007/08 funding round is now completed
SFF has now advised all applicants in the 2007/08 funding round as to whether their project was successful in getting funded (small projects), or whether they are on the short list to submit a Phase 2 application (large projects).
SFF received requests for over $30 million worth of grant funding this year. Of this:
- 26 small projects (<$20,000 SFF grant), totalling a maximium of $449,230, have been approved subject to contracting.
- 62 large projects (>$20,000 SFF grant), totalling a maximum of $12,891,735, have been invited to submit a Phase 2 proposal that will be assessed by an external panel of industry and community leaders in mid June.
- Overall the quality of applications was high, making the job of the panel difficult. A number of projects would have been eligible for funding if more grant money was available. The SFF project advisors are available to work with all applicant groups (successful or otherwise). In some cases SFF may provide specific feedback to assist in improving your application.
Project leaders are encouraged to contact Amanda Hall, phone 0800 100 087, in the first instance - Amanda can put you in touch with the most appropriate project advisor for your project.
Phase 2 applicant workshops - postponed until mid year
We have decided to postpone the workshops advertised in the last E-news until July or early August. By holding the workshops later in the year, we can work with the successful groups before their project is contracted.
The timing may also allow more people to attend the "Communications Workshops" that we are planning to run as a free afternoon session open to anyone involved in SFF projects.
Individual groups, especially those who have not had previous SFF funding, are encouraged to contact their SFF project advisor (through Amanda Hall), for help in putting together the Phase 2 application.
New reporting format and request for payment forms
Well done! Most groups are using the new request for payment forms (for 05 and 06 projects) and the new progress reporting template. So far the February reporting round is going smoothly with most teams emailing their correctly-completed forms in on time (and including their project number in the email header).
Reports and request for payment forms are now overdue for the period ending February 28th. We expect to hear from you if there valid is a reason for your delay. Remember it is part of your contract to report on, or before, the due dates.
Ending
Please contact us if you want to provide something for future editions of SFF E-news.
Let us know if you don't wish to receive any more editions of E-news or if there is someone who should be added to our distribution list.
