The impacts and conflicts that are identified are the impact of the Forestry development on the workers within the forestry community.
Killerby, S. (1991). 'New Zealand timber harvesting: scenic beauty analysis', University of Waikato 1991.
Aesthetics is an important part of the impact of forestry on rural communities. This article is good in that it examines the impact of forestry visually, but it does not do this in specific for the forestry community, but rather for the general public.

This thesis studies a) a region dominated by native forestry and b) an area which area has a long history of forestry. Most of the literature refers to indigenous forestry and looks at the impact of a dwindling indigenous forestry industry on a rural community.
