New Legal Resource: Community and Voluntary sector
"Keeping It Legal E Ai Ki Te Ture" is designed as a starting point for people in voluntary and not-for-profit organisations who want to know about laws that may affect them and what they need to do to meet their legal obligations. It consists of four brochures that provide and introduction to key topics, and these are supported by a series of fact sheets:
- Brochure 1 provides a framework for understanding how the law affects organisations (it also outlines the resource);
- Brochure 2 helps to identify an organisation's legal structure and administrative tasks;
- Brochure 3 helps identify the key laws and regulations an organisation needs to know about;
- Brochure 4 provides guidelines about compliance programmes and using insurance to manage risks; and
- the fact sheets complement the brochures, providing further valuable information on topics such as the Charities Commission, tax, health and safety, insurance, and the Human Rights Act.
A limited number of hard copies have been printed, and the resource is also available online. To download the online version or for ordering a hard copy visit: www.nzfvwo.org.nz/files/projects.htm#keepingitlegal |
