Proposed Rule for Vehicle Exhaust Emissions; Have Your Say
Land Transport NZ (LTNZ) has released the public consultation draft of the above Rule. This draft Rule proposes additional requirements to the existing emissions standards for vehicles manufactured from 1990. It would introduce visible smoke testing for vehicles at vehicle inspections, to ensure that vehicles entering or already in the NZ fleet are not gross polluters. The proposed Rule would also change the implementation date for the Euro 4 emissions standard for heavy diesel vehicles.
