Types of Documents
MAFnet abstracts are accompanied by a reference which indicates their source and the kind of document that they are. These are the headings which are now used:
MAF Public Discussion Paper:
Papers inviting public submissions on proposed new policy.
MAF Position Paper:
Papers stating MAF's official position on an issue, e.g. the end result of a Public Discussion Paper.
MAF Public Information Paper:
Papers written for publication that are descriptive in nature, e.g. synopses of submissions.
MAF Technical Paper:
Papers written for publication that are analytical or expository in nature.
"Situation and Outlook for New Zealand Agriculture":
Analysis of domestic and international trends for commodity groups.
"Farm Monitoring Report":
Short term regional financial and physical forecasts and analysis of perceptions and trends
"biosecurity"
Biosecurity covers New Zealand biosecurity and animal health issues. It is of special interest to all those with a stake in New Zealands animal production industries.

Recommendations and minimum standards information
Article:
Document prepared by MAF for a periodical, or as a feature in a MAF publication
Regulatory Authority Report:
Report on RA work or seminar
Strategic and Statutory Documents:
Management documents such as business plans, documents required by statute such as the Annual Report and Departmental Forecast Report, strategic documents such as profiles.
Books in Library:
Volumes that are available for reference
CD Rom:
A compact disk reference.
Microfiche:
Material stored on a sheet of microfilm.
Video:
Material stored on video tape, DVD (Digital Video Disk), Picture Disk or mini disk.
Audio:
Material stored on audio tape or disk - either vinyl or Compact Disk.
Website Reference:
A link to a URL of a World Wide Web site, or part of a site, that has useful material on Ministry of Agriculture issues: for example

Extract:
Article or excerpt from a book or journal of interest to MAF staff or audience.
Journal:
